Okay as for tools I replaced my bent concave cutter with another, Bonsai Aesthetics from stonelantern. I can already tell a huge difference between the super cheapo I got from Amazon and these cheap novice grade cutters. So depending on what I get I'm sure I'll be happy. figured they were expensive by the etching and then your response makes me think they’re very special and rare. Can us noobs find out? 🤞🏻🤤

Sorry but to me bonsai is a Japanese art form and they know best so I'll stick with bonsai tools made in Japan. One reason Im cutting out roshi.
Hello, Bonsai originated in China as practice called penjing. But, regardless of origin, it is a fine Japanese art form. I agree with you about Japanese cutting tools also. I went to a foundry on a recent trip to Japan and watched a "Master" and his son make kitchen knives. The level of commitment to quality was admirable.
