By the way this forest came from my mental image if exactly how the trees looked, including spacing, before I pulled them out. The only difference is that I replaced the damaged little trees with some I had.

It is a rather large forest with the big tree almost 6” at the base. Now comes the long wait for buds.

Now that the roots have developed. Today I made the height adjustment I had planned.

Afterward the heights of all trunks front and back are as planned. The forest may be moved to a mica pot before second growing season 2023.IMG_7241.jpeg

The center and left side of the composition is off to a fantastic start IMO. Love the primary and secondary trees!
However, the three trees on the right are a bit similar in size and form. I can't tell what you did with the rear one of this grouping in your most recent shot, but I could see this looking great if you can differentiate them as the forest matures (different heights? or maybe you could pull the right-most tree just ~10 degrees or so with a guy wire to create a little more space between it and its neighbor?)

The front right two trees came right out of the swamp like that. The final adjustment I plan is to chop the furthest tree a bit more and create a slight angle falling away. I was planning to do that when I move the forest to the mica pot where the pot will be 2" more shallow and the soil will be mounded. The angle out from the mound will be natural for all the trees at the edges. Perhaps I can use guy wires to get things started earlier.
