Emergency repot on a little Mikawa

The wind took this one off the bench and broke the pot. It is probably just as well, so I can give it a little more room to run. I was impressed by the microrizae (sp?) or fuzzy white stuff in the roots. I’ve never really witnessed that before in my trees, though I have only had a few JBP.IMG_6996.jpegIMG_6997.jpeg
 
Nice root health shown by the mycorrhiza and white root tips.
Not sure if you did any root work but I would have just combed them out and repotted as well. You should get alot more root growth before end of the year so just becareful of deep freezes and protect it accordingly.
I think I have the same white pot with J. Maple, btw.

This is my first winter in coastal SC, but shouldn’t be too much to worry about with deep freezes. I could always put it in the garage if there is a big chill forecasted.

I always liked the mass production pot. It works well for a chunky ficus too.
