The Tree Thread

Happy to see this one back growing.
last year it got a quit severe repot and only like 40%of the buds opened up.
over the summer those dried all up but then later new buds formed on every branch resulting in zero die back. Happy now to see all those buds starting to open up.
if it grows well, it will be compacted more in fall. It also still has most of its 2 year old needles

My fear of conifer, I didn't stop to really inspect them previously. This is well done! Lovely movement and everything. I'm learning to stop and really appreciate all bonsai. Even if it's not in my realm.

A friend who was downsizing gifted this stewartia to me and refused to accept any money.

Very nice friend. That's how I came about my dwarf powderpuff as well.

Shared before...but something about the foliage mixed with the yellow I found charming as I went to tuck this forsythia away last night back into the greenhouse. 20210404_200933.jpg

Mom had minor surgery today (carpal tunnel; she’s recovering well!) so I am caring for her. I brought this Dwarf Blue Scots Pine with me to do some late wiring on.

This is the surgical center’s parking lot 😎

Over-potted, incomplete structure, but still very happy with this kingsville. Acquired from Bill V and its first repot under my care. Plan is to develop the rest of the canopy/trunk line over the next several years.

May be the first of my trees into a legitimate bonsai pot. Though it isn’t quite ready.

What a lovely tree, good job making a believable bonsai of it.

I have been strugling with this Mugo Montana since 1972, I have had it in several different designs. I am finally finding it's spirit. A gift from my father.DSC_0607.JPG
