Hi All,

I'm looking to buy a trident maple to turn into a bonsai. None of my local nursery's seem to have one and I am curious if anyone has a tree for sale, or if you have suggestions on where to buy them. Thanks!

I'm open to options. My budget is around $150, so I'll work within that, but larger is better.

My other trees are all about 1.5 inches thick at the base and I like that size.

You could try Bella bonsai in NC. Email the owner, Larry Morton and ask what he has within your budget. He has tons of stuff not listed on his website.

So, have you called any of the bonsai nurseries in metro Los Angeles? There's more than a few based on my Google search, and many more outside of metro LA. There's probably a few bonsai clubs you could contact, too. To me, it seems odd someone living in CA would be looking outside of the state for material as common as a Trident. Anyway, good luck with your search

Green thumb bonsai has larger caliper field grown tridents. International bonsai has smaller tridents. I highly recommend both.
