Where Can I Buy a Chojubaj?

Young ones, when grown hard, grow at a decent clip. Shove an old one in a cramped bonsai pot and it'll sit there and look at you all year and might give you a courtesy extension of a couple nodes here and there. Go read up on crataegus.com. Follow his horticultural advice on growing a younger one and you might be shocked by the results.

Bump!

Still no cuttings....
Pretty sure Don Blackmond (gregory beach bonsai) has some younger ones, i.e. somewhat newly rooted cuttings. He's on here quite a bit and his email is on gregorybeachbonsai.com. No idea what he charges on a young one, but his 'older' ones are reasonable considering what you're getting and market value.

Julian Adams in VA also has cuttings or did a month ago.

Now Brent has red ones but not white ones!! Arghh. Anyway, here they are today after being repotted and wired a few weeks ago. They have yellow leaf edges and I'm not sure what that's about? Maybe a fertilizer issue?

Keep in mind chojubai are technically a dwarf shrub, not a true tree like an acer or an elm. They recycle leaves quite a bit during the growing season.

Thanks for the tidbit, but it had just leafed out when it yellowed so I don't think that's the problem?
