Never buy one of anything

On the corner of happy and healthy, everything is rapid growing. 11 month grow season.

3 years here = 2 months there!

Heheh I hate people who live in long growth zones.........though we get about 5 months (if you don't count autumn) here so not too bad I guess.

Love no hate, hate is such a strong word!

Love. And they gotta keep their tools sharp all year, water all year, drink whatever it is they drink out there, Sweet Tea, Lemonade, Coors Light? In thongs all day. Golfing! Build hurricane/ earthquake proof benches, battle coyotes, etc.

Lol love then....... come on coyotes are just overly expressive puppies. They're nice once you get to know them. As for hurricanes well, they're a different kettle of fish all together. Flying bonsai? Now that's an art!

As my mother often told me "the grass is always greener"
In Korea they have difficulty distinguishing r and l so you might have said the glass is greener.......in which case why go and play on the glass even if it is green? SOrry lame humour.

I wish I could buy one of something! nurseries just starting to get trucks delivering spring material this week. Everyplace was a ghost town just last week.

It looks like you worked the last one much harder than the others! looks like one of your tridents. Looking forward to seeing how it responds. Thanks for sharing.
Me too! I don't have time to pussy foot around with material. It either plays or pays...by going to the trash. I have never fooled with green maples much because I don't like the slowness and the delicate nature of the species. We'll see how these do. There's about a hundred more where these came from. Even bigger!

Almost a year later and the repotting started last week. This last weekend on Sunday after the Shohin Seminar I repotted some maples that are getting close to opening. When I aquired these I did not repot them, since it was March and I didn't have time to get the work done. This year I repotted all four and it took almost all day to get these chopped down to size.

In the last photo, the most right hand branch looks like it could use some big wire and some bendy curve somewhere on it. Looks like it's small enough still to get some.
I agree. Tried to dry bend it and it's stiffer than I thought. Will wait till it heats up a bit and bend it late in the day when not so turgid.

Nice Al. I like these type of candelabra style maples (and trees in general). I have one I'm working on currently. Lots of them by my neck of the woods.

Looks awesome. Love JM's and really dig the direction this one is headed.:D

If only that projection screen could talk........can you imagine what sights it's seen?:oops::cool::confused:;):p

Anxious to follow it's progress.....the tree, not the screen.......heheheee
