I wanted to add... that I sure as shit, am not going to kiss your ass though to discuss bonsai.

The leaves are a little curled but not terribly... I showed interest in it originally because in my experience this slight affliction is a very easy fix, and typically only affect the first flush of Spring growth, a quick treatment usually fixes it right up... so not a huge concern to me.

That said, I stopped pursuing it because I am about to go on a cruise with the family... when we get back, if your trees are still available I might shoot you a PM to ask about trade options.

You say you are/were trying to make an effort. I appeciate that. However you chose to tear people down yourself and make a comment that people liking a certain post above don't have trees that are better than the ones posted.

You have not been in my yard and you have no idea what is on my benches because I don't flaunt my trees and post them unless I have specific questions.

I'll tell you that while I do have some trees not as nice, I do have trees every bit as nice and some better than the ones posted in this thread.

So please refrain from making general and insulting statements about things you don't know.

I skimmed the pages so forgive me if I missed something. What's going on with the trident isn't a fungus you can treat. It happens mostly to trident which have been imported from Japan and have gotten weak. The tips of those curled leaves could turn black. If they do those leaves will likely die, then the next flush will have it worse. The only way to cure it is to let the tree grow free, no pruning for a year or two in the roots or foliage.

These same individuals were doing the same thing to me when I first showed up here years ago... You would of thought they would of given it a rest over the years, but clearly this is all they have going for them.

Just do your thing. You will find plenty of people willing to honestly help you along the way. Good people, who don't try and make you feel like shit, because they have some hang up in life.

You can always contact me if you need help, and if I can help you... I would be more than willing to do so!

So, happy I have come as far as I have not dealing with people like this!

You do good work, your tree that you posted from the styling competition is a good tree! You worked hard on it I know... and it shows!
Hopefully in another year or two you will see about entering in the US National Shohin Exhibition. I would like to see it there, and it deserves to be there.

We are all caught up in a mess that was established years before we got here... it is time this is changed. No need to be rude to people, over something as rediculous as people not wanting to listen to someone. Perhaps more people need to stick their fingers in their ears? Bonsai is much more than this... and much better than some grumpy old timers with attitudes.

I also agree it gets crazy around here sometimes but such is human nature when people are passionate about something. People here are very passionate.

DANG! Sandy that is stunning!

As for what is on my bench...they bring me joy. I don't need them to do anything else. But...loving my newly purchased tree. It's getting quite the buzz. From ones wanting to buy it. To ones just taking time to say nice things. Sergio helped take it to another level. Which I appreciate so much. Love the advice I've gotten here over the years. I can see Jim nodding his head looking down on me in my yard in acceptance of that hot mess now. ☺️ I respected his time when he was here...along with his knowledge. Even when I didn't see eye to eye with the man...I always respected him.

My trees also bring my joy. I would not have them if it was otherwise.

I do however want to push them and me to the next level. I find that challenge, and the result fun.
