You said now I remove some foliage and next scroll BOOM naked tree!
Oh, no...IT SUCKS TO GET OLD!!Thanks for sharing your video John. I liked how the carving turned out. But.....
What the heck happened to the hydraulic lift cart your father-in-law was going to build for you? Might have come in handy moving this one. The cart in the video looks a bit - back intensive. You must be aging more gracefully than I.

Hey Buddy...good to hear from you... This is actually a tree I spotted while in the swamp with you....came back and collected it the following year.Wow! Great vid, as usual. This tree is fortunate to have found you John G! Any gator attacks in bringing this one home? Looking forward to it's progression.
Yeah John, you could do some voice-over work for radio advertising on the side...Great tree....
But I love your voice...
So easy to listen to!
Thanks for the Work John!

That is the base that everybody should be looking for in a bald cypress..
Yep. There are tons for sale but very few with good fluted bases. Oftentimes, the ones with fluted bases are big and old and growing in swamp water, so they aren't easy to collect and require getting dirty and some sweat equity. Plus you might look at a hundred or more before you find one to collect.I soooo agree with this comment...I have little use for BC that don't have a great base...that is the single characteristic that stands them apart from everything else! You can't grow bases like these...period. Yet, I see crappy ones being bought all the time...and the first question asked is how do I improve the base?? Easy answer, you don't, you collect a good one or buy a good one.
