Bonsai? Or Kid?

So as I've been binge watching Nigel's videos, one thing has kept coming to mind. Bonsai seems a lot like raising a kid.

"No, you can't have that!"
"Pick up your clothes!"
"You better behave!"

"No, you can't grow that branch there!"
"Do not leave your roots here!"
"You better straighten up!"

It's a lot like encouraging your tree to do something, much like it is trying to get a child to listen to you! And it goes on for the rest of your life, unless your tree grows up and moves out!
 
And the best thing about tree's is that they don't run away when they are angry.
 
As a parent I can say bonsai is nothing like raising a kid, but eventually I assume your trees become your kids.

Local nursery guy told me a few weeks ago, while asking if I could purchase a certain tree; "Sure. Just trade me your kid. Because I put in the same amount of time and energy into this tree."

My advice: give it up right now o_O

Don't know what went wrong, one of them is a vegetarian and both are anarchists.

Just like my trees, however hard I try to conform to the norms....
 
The more I watch, and learn, the more it seems that bonsai is less like raising kids and more like raising a show dog.

I don't know why (I do, but let's pretend I don't), but I have children.

Yes I know why : fear of death. I was in my thirties.

I don't regret loving my ex-wife and having children.

But I wonder whether it's necessary to reproduce the paranoid loudspeaker in a world where Donald Trump and Wladimir Putin are friends. After all, what's the point living in a fascist (trumpist), racist world, bang bang bang bang, --- oooh, some bonsaï people have guns :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

It took me a long time to love, understand children.

Now, I'm some sort of "Uncle Alain".

I'm even Johann's uncle now : I met him in Belfast and he told me how his father has refused to talk to him for 7 years.

Hey, I'm fumbling with whom I will sleep with tomorrow. Wow, I want it to be simple.

Never, never will I display a knife or a gun.

My sex-friends are so sweet :cool:

Funny you seem to hate everything American and then end it with one of the most American bands on the planet. Still hanging as Flo and Eddie. I remember them as the Crossfires, growing up on KFWB in Los Angeles in the sixties.

It is obvious that you don’t even know the meaning of the word “fascist”. But don’t worry the United States will probably come and bail your country’s sorry ass out again when you surrender to the next oppressor. By the way, do you have your prayer rug ready?

Hey, you Bananaman, you don't seem to know much about people apart from a few miles where you live with your guns and rifles and religion in your little big house there in your little big land of North America.

The beauty of this site is those with constructive things to say about bonsai and how to work them can put those on ignore and never miss anything cause they never post anything worthwhile to read.
