A little dove came to the yard and found a piece of wire that didn’t make it into the recycling bin, probably trying to build itself a little nest. Last is a dragon, not basking but probably looking for cover to spend the night.

End of summer and the bower birds have returned from summer in the mountains.
Beautiful bird but they are omnivorous and always hungry. No flower or vegetable or fruit is safe when these guys are around.
This male got in under the nets protecting the olives so I was able to catch him and get some closer photos.

He’s been in one of my maples for 2 weeks now, everyday I search for him and find him under a different branch
You should have a closer look. He is a She!
looks like she has already met and probably eaten some unsuspecting male. You'll find an egg case somewhere in the next week or 2.

Ahh awesome! I’ll keep an eye out for some babies.

In my childhood home we used to have loads of praying mantises in the garden. I’ve always loved seeing them since then. But growing up and moving from that home I haven’t seen too many over the years.

Now 25 years later my girlfriend and I have bought our first house together and in the 4,5 months we’ve been in our new home I’ve seen more mantises than I have since that childhood garden. They’re always welcome in our garden :)

This morning , after the 328 th round trip of a turtledove with a branch in the beak , in front of the window of my kitchen , i finally undersdood , the reasons for these comings and goings .

I hope a long life for babies and not too much droppings on the ground .

WTF? This little dude must have been somebody's pet. Unless they're slowly invading Florida too.

Basilisk lizard AKA Jesus Lizard. Found in Central and South America.

Cool pic thought

Could be a pet considering how close I got but they are invading soflo. People get their kids pets but get tired of having to go buy crickets or kids lose interest and they just let them free. 🤦🏽‍♂️

Just outside my garden, I made a “bird feeder”. Built a fake nest, put a couple of dated chicken eggs in it. Set up a game cam and caught this one with the goods. Ravens are notorious nest robbers.
