It's one of 3... And yes, I'm going after them all. The good thing about where we live (on top of the "mountain") is that you can't dig too deep without hitting rock.

Got started on these guys. Took about 20 minutes to produce the "carnage":

Then, the left one came out pretty easily, and within 30 minutes was cleaned up and planted in my growing bed..
9" wide at the soil level, 19" tall. ang3lfir3...it's shorter, but not my much!
Hopefully the other 2 will come out as easily, and they won't protest being collected too much.

Now they look even more impressive Brian! The nebari alone is so cool. May I ask, what's the purpose of your "growing bed"? Why not put it in a wooden box like I see most collected material go?

Anything's possible...
On growing bed vs box...box is better for conifers to stabilize temps, reduce available moisture, and confine roots. I thought this would recover faster in the ground after as much as was removed.
