Can’t believe I haven’t updated this tree on bnut in 5 years. 🤯 I had this one looking good at one point. It’s gotten leggy. But I think I can get it back to looking good.

Another neglected, yet healthy tree.

Thanks for the kind words. That’s a good question about the branches. I don’t think it would be hard to do. My sense with JBP (and similar pines) is the focus is often more about the candles (size, ramification, etc) than branch size. But I’ve never grown or trained a world class pine from...

Like many of my trees, a bit neglected. Starting to pull these back out. Needs decandled next year. And re wired. But healthy!

Here’s a Hinoki Cypress I picked up a couple of years ago. Here’s the earliest picture I have from 2023: Here it is before work in 2024: The after: I cut from 4 branches to 3 Then today: Plan to repot in spring. Might cut off another branch and make it a twin trunk. Not sure.
