I sowed some Jacaranda seeds in summer 2024, after receiving another "bonsai seed" kit for my b-day. My previous attempts with Jacaranda were not successful.

April 2025 Repotted in spring 2025. They didn't look great at the time.

July 2025 Luckily, they bounced back quite well! Pretty much all the seedlings I put in TinyRoots deciduous blend soil LOVE it. I also sowed some seeds in spring 2025. Here you can see this year's seedlings with the greatly recovered seedlings from 2024.

They are all growing very strong and healthy right now. 😊

Nice. I've planted a few some years ago. I'll be planting these up soon. Others I have chopped and trimmed the roots already.

This is my first year growing jacaranda seedlings (I, too, got a kit for my birthday) it’s actually my first year growing any kind of seedling- you waited a full year to repot?

Yes, I usually just let my seedlings gain as much strength as possible for the first year, although they were still pretty small and sickly looking when I did repot them this spring. I'm really happy with how healthy they look now.

My wife is really fond of this plant from her childhood. I recently acquired 3 seedlings. They look to be about a full year growth and pretty healthy. Hoping to keep 1 for myself for a bonsai adventure beginning with a spring repot. Albuquerque climate. So I need to start thinking about the winter plan now. Looking forward to seeing how your projects develop :)

Yeah, they are beautiful trees, all over college campuses in southern California. I've walked across those purple sidewalks many times. I hope you make a progression thread of yours.

Mine have really been growing like crazy this summer in the TinyRoots soil, but in your area, I would look into using more organic soil. Then it's just a matter of letting them go wild for a few years.

They are very nice trees if i was you i would put one or two in the ground using the tile method, they thicken up quickly. Mine was in the ground for just over two years.
The hardest part is to try and get them to flower ,I have had no success as yet will keep trying 😊
