it is as if the monsoon rains left India and arrived on our doorstep?? baobabs are being moved to any and all covered areas in my yard... i have only lost 1 big tree so far...
we have had an overabundance of rain this early summer...some of the baobabs are battling in the potting soil - gonna leave this big tree out of all substrate for a few days to dry out a bit...
natalensis roots seem to attach securely on their own with very little assistance...what is important (i think) is to have long roots that are buried right from the start.
6.5 years in and the host trees are still pushing good growth...we have had awesome rain in November (early summer) and here are a few before cutback. Still not sure what i am doing with these but am enjoying all the growing... 👍
sorry guys but when i load pictures (attach files) i cannot get them to rotate . when i do the rotate left or rotate right , the image stays skew....
please help this technologically impaired individual...
these large cuttings are from a problem tree in my garden - they grow just as easily as thin cuttings... i do think certain ficus grow much easier from truncheon cuttings - this is thoningii or burkei maybe... i cannot get microcarpa cuttings to grow healthily in South Africa...
it is looking super healthy - much better than when you first got it 👍 unfortunately the growth habit of this species is erratic, 1 year the aerial roots will boom and then the next will shrink back... your tree has a great outline
