So this is Carolina mantis. It's the first time I observe them in our neck of the woods...
This one likes to sit outside the glass door at night catching bugs attracted by the light.

I made this guy mad by watering the flowers . I am always happy to see them . This year only a handful . The Garter snakes are plentiful though .

I was pleased to see this Common Toad in my garden this year. I see lots of frogs but this was the first toad.Wonderful slug hunters.
