$10 Tam Juniper - Juniperus Sabina

I cant believe all this was done this year.
Braveheart!

Awesome looking tree.

I'm really struggling with feathery looking foliage. You've taken to it like a duck to water to where it
doesn't look so feathery now. Mine's a good bit more feathery and making it difficult for me to begin styling (gold lace).

Thanks J!! A good chunk of the work was done last year, including initial branch and foliage removal and root work. I’ve wired it twice this year, once in spring and once the other day. trimmed it heavy once in spring and a second trim at the recent wiring. Had it not grown well I wouldn’t have done much more. It’ll sit to grow freely through to next early summer.

Any update on these ? A local nursery has a bunch of thick Sabina’s in stock for cheap but i have heard mixed reviews about them. Would love to see how these developed.

This one died in the great/not so great tree casualties of 2020. I lost like half my collection. Nursery sabinas can be great but some are better than others. A decent trunk and nebari is crucial. Here is a thread I started with quite a few different nursery Sabina and chinensis worth looking at.
