A Field Grown Larch

Last year I picked up a field grown Larch from a friend who had lovingly grown the tree for many years. He did a great job in my opinion. I should have taken more before pictures but from what you can see let me know your thoughts on my initial work on the tree.

It is a very strong tree and could handle the heavy pruning / potting in the same spring. Next spring I plan to detail wire it to bring it together better.

ha! Not sure about that @Hartinez but thanks. This will be a cool tree, I would like to get it in a shallower pot eventually, lately I have been thinking that it really helps the look of the foliiage on Larch. In my garden, if the Larch are in a big pot, they get too blown out with long needles.

Thanks, I guess it was 16 years and root pruned a few times as well…. pretty impressive dedication.

Very cool , besides collecting natives , I also dug up field grown native deciduous this spring , its cool to see that others are doing it.
