A FORTUNE awaits

Hipster piercings.

Careful, we won't be able to buy wire anymore! They'll be buying it all up and making hipster jewelry out of it.

A few years back there was a fad for all the girls to wear hackle (chicken) feathers in their hair. There are a couple companies that produce these for the fly fishing industry and they couldn't keep up with the demand. Every time the fly shop would get a new shipment of hackle it would be gone before you could get in there to buy it. Crappy hackle was selling for astronomical prices on ebay, etc. The good stuff was impossible to find. Very frustrating if you like to tie your own flies. And the poor chickens...Oh the humanity.

Ha!!! Chicken feathers!!! I used to work on an egg farm in my teens, we're talking like 3-4 thousand chickens here....the most vile, disgusting, vicious creatures on the planet!!!
Maybe if it was the 70's and Cher was still popular!!!;):D:D:D:D:D:D

Careful there. My then eight year old daughter resembles those remarks.

Eight is fun and playful......28?.......desperate and sloppy.....;):D:D:D:D:D

I remember watching the college softball world series (only for the competition, not for the Arizona girls in tight pants) and they all had my damn fly tying feathers in their hair.

Aluminum can easily be unwrapped, as Adair said. I keep it and use for mesh clips and tied downs. All wire gets recycled.
Aluminum is easily straightened back out, and can be used for wiring again. Simply grab each end of the wire with a pair of pliers in each hand. Bring your hands together in front of your chest, then quickly pop your hands apart. This will snap the wire back straight again!

You can actually do it with copper, too, but it won't be soft. It will need to be annealed again.

I hardly ever wire with anything other than copper. It's easy to unwind copper. I grab the end with Jin pliers, and undoing it. Heavier gauges need to be cut off.
