A question for Vance Wood

How extreme are your winters. I would conclude that your season would be the same as our October or November. You can repot then but do not be so aggressive.
Vance you mentioned that after removing extended candles in July the plant has a tendency to put out only 1 bud at the tip. You then remove this bud in August. Does the tree then put out more buds?

What I said was that sometimes this can happen I should have been more clear and added: But it only happens to the weakest shoots that you may have left alone and did not remove that same summer. I am not totally certain why that happens I am only certain what to do about it, and that is to pluck the single bud if it is strong and fat in the early fall, late August through September. This will cause the same back budding you get when you remove a shoot.
