More pix later. The auditorium is difficult to photograph in, and my shots from yesterday reflect that. Will try again today.

Here is his demo tree in progress...

The show was first rate. Kathy joined us yesterday and treated us to a discussion on show setup this morning. To have her and Uchi there was really a treat. My second attempt at photos was no better today, but we have a professional photographer in the ranks, and he's sending me some to share tomorrow.

For now, a shot of Kathy and Crazy, Kathy and me "negotiating" the Koyo pot for the pyracantha (she's always right, of course), and a quick parting shot of Crazy and me, as I'm running tear-down detail. And finally, a shot of Crazy's demo tree. I'll start a new thread on that at some point. It's a shimpaku from Brent's Specimens page purchased in 2/14.

And the best one hour I have spent in bonsai--a one-on-one session with Crazy.

Those are some beautiful trees! Crazy looks like he really has fun with the trees. Not your typical Artist from what I see. :) Hope to see you next month Brian.

I didn't get to see the finished product Ron, how does the shimpaku look now?
Vin: Looking forward to it. PM dates when you lock them in.
Few more shots...

Not done yet. Cleaned up very nicely. I wrote everything down Crazy said to do: Fertilize this weekend, grow for month (should be long enough), cut back. In winter wire, pulling front down with guide wire, back around to right, two lower of crown down. When repotting, tilt up at 30 degree angle and mix 20%"grit" with the 80% akadama . Such a small tree and it is labor intensive. Oh, have to find the right pot and Crazy identified a different front that we had
