Azalea "Congo" Chop

I cut this one down and got the roots reduced this weekend. It will be a few years and a few more root reductions before it is ready for a decent pot. Here it is:

Update:

I thought that I had lost this one, it did not fare well last year after the chop. I babied it through last year and it really came on strong for 2016 and it got a hair cut today.

I hit it kinda hard, but it needed opening up to help with air circulation and to let some light into the interior.

UPDATE:

Did a repot on this one today. It has been about three years since I first reduced the roots. I did not manage to get a nice pot for it, so a mica training pot will have to do, it still looks better than the cut down nursery pot that it came in.

The flower, I love this flower, it is an enchanting kinda purple
