This field maple was collected in spring 2010 as a pure stump without any branches. It stayed in the growing for two years, then is was potted in a training container. Unfortunately the tree had a severe fungus infection, one branch after the other died. As a result the maple was set back in the growing field in the hope to regain its vitality. In the end the tree succeeded.
With the big cuttings it is impossible to get a traditional japanese style bonsai. Instead may goal ist to develope an impressive wild "fairy style" tree.
I`am looking forward to spring 2026 when repotting the tree in a new appropriate ceramic pot thats in the making.
