My two birches with out there leaves. ... found the thicker one on the side of some docks at a lake down the road looks about the same as when I found it. And the other I dug up from the side of my driveway to practice trying to get leaf size smaller.

That one on the left looks like it has some character! Definitely some nice trees to learn the species. I personally have no experience with them.

How were the roots? Did you dig them recently?

I haven't looked at them yet.. I will in the next week when i put them in the ground for winter... but the one on the left that came from the lake just had all its roots floating in the water . It was kinda stuck between the rocks. The other was just a big web like root system on top of the dirt but under the leaves. They have really cool roots .

Its going to get cold up there this weekend. I have family up there and they say that temps are predicted to be below 30 at night this weekend.

Ya Saturday night.... it's been down in the 30s at night this week. Winters here boys!

Looks like we get a taste of it this weekend but temperatures go up a bit afterwards. Seesaw weather

Forecast for my area has it as low as 35 this weekend. Definitely tells to get my ass in gear this weekend and finish preparing the garage and cold frame for storing trees.
