Hi all,

What are your thoughts on Peter Chan's book, for those who have read it?

I really like his philosophy on bonsai and I'm thinking of getting it.

Ik have two of his books, one in English. The rest were all €1 finds in the thrift shop, if you can believe it.

Choosing and growing bonsai ,- Peter chan
Step by step bonsai - Colin lewis
My favourite is Colin lewis, it feels more aimed at beginners. Choosing and growing bonsai is nice as a species info piece

I can send you excerpts if you like, some are in Dutch but if you have a specific piece/species it could give you a feel for the book.

I have the book. Horticultural info is a bit dated, especially regarding soil composition. Design info isn't bad, though. I'd say it's worth the MSRP.

I feel Peter Chans soil setup is a bit more on the old school side, also from his videos.
