What are some techniques/design considerations for growing/improving a Trident vs. a JM?

As someone newer to desciduous, it seems that
1. Tridents are more masculine where JM are more feminine.
2. Tridents do not have as much emphasis put on the nebari vs. JM. Trident nebari’s seem to be more chunky, and are more pine-like.
3. Tridents are usually built to be more chunky and muscley, whereas JM are more slender and elegant.
4. I have read that the best JM are usually container grown, whereas Tridents are usually grown in the ground.

Let me know if these general statements are true, and please offer any tips to the forum of techniques/design considerations for Tridents vs. JM

Thanks!!!

the short answers:

1 - no (see 3 below)

2 - no (see 3 below)

3 - no. A lot of people grow tridents with 'chunky' or 'masculine' trunks, but there are very many nice slender, elegant and feminine tridents out there

4 - no, tridents and japanese maples can all be grown in different ways

Reads like a description of American Tridents and Japanese...Japanese Maples.

Tridents are just tough enough to handle our heavy hands so we see that.
We (except Mach5) kill J.M.'s so we must refer to Japanese made ones.

Makes sense.

Well I guess I was totally wrong, haha! Thanks for clearing up my assumptions!
