@Wilson,

hello, no his mom is elderly and not well, so he has to make trips to Toronto, and
he only just realised [ as in yesterday on the telephone ] that Toronto should have a
Bonsai Society.

Trinidadians, tend to be very shy with regards to the use of Forums.
So he asked me to see if I can get a contact for him, and his September trip,

He has a fascination with Maples, and I believe will get an old fridge.:)

Thanks for doing the @ bit.
Good Day
Anthony

Sorry for the tardiness.. Yes. What @Ironbeaver said

And yes as @Wilson said. Come down to the fall show!

@Anthony I don't know if he will be able to import maples to Trinidad. Stringent rules. Unless he knows of a guy who has a container and knows a guy who knows a guy.

@f1pt4 ,

I was hoping he could just meet you guys, and you show him some quality Bonsai.

Bonsai down here is in a mess. Ladder trees / no back branches, bar branches,
overly thin trunks on 25 + year old tall trees.
Open his eyes.

Yesterday, I showed a very gentle and pleasant lady how to thin her 20 year old
tree of branchlets and then examined the soil. Loam, fine clay, fine sand and some how the tree
grows.

Then folk going off with 4 mm copper wire stiff as can be to wire trees.
No knowledge of what to do, just off to wire.

We will have to fix all of this before we can even as ak teacher to come down.
It is embarrassing,

As to maples down here, they need fridges, and apart from K, most won't do that.

I will order some seeds from Amazon, instead of wasting your time.

See if I can prepare him mentally to make friends, and go look at some real
Bonsai.
Thanks a million for responding.
I will check for a date for your fall show.
Good Day

The fall show date and poster should be announced in September. As soon as I know, I'll post the poster up on this forum and let you know.

Most likely the show will be first or second weekend of October. Somewhere around Canadian Thanksgiving.

It would be the best opportunity for him to see some of the work we do.
