NNICE...Wouldn't wanna buy a pot for it though, or have to lug it into winter storage. Eat your Wheaties...
I brought this one home last week. It was smaller than the first, so I fit it in my trunk. It was actually flat along one side, so it must have been growing up against to headstone.

I actually split this up into 3-4 pots, and did the major pruning like Don suggested. I'll add a pic when I have the time.

Skip rat gets another chance! Looks like a graham Potter special.
I'm planning on half-bare-rooting it.

This in probably the one you're asking about:An update would be nice!
IME this is a mistake...this is not a pine tree or juniper...roots are completely different on azaleas and total bare rooting in any fashion will greatly risk the health of this tree. cut the rootball to the size you need for whatever container it is going in...lightly comb out the edges and bottom of the rootball...pot. Do not try to eliminate the fine fibrous roots.
Thanks Nim. Now I have a name for it, should I turn it into something worthy.Goliath bird eating azalea.
Back around June 1st, after the flowers had faded, I did a partial repotting.
