Wanted to start a thread about my little collection of tuskmo cypress. The first tree has been in training for 3 years with me but i was told was whem i bought it was 14 years old. i wish I had a picture of when I first bought it from a local nursery that sells so called bonsai trees, really mostly what they sell are just untrained trees in cheap bonsai pots or somewhat trained trees that only someone that has no real knowledge of bonsai would think is a nice tree. All the trees I've bought from them need to be totally rebuilt to make them into something nice. The second tree i bought from the same place and had been there for a long time as well. It was in a nursery container totally raw and very sickly. As a matter of fact the first tree was on it very last leg and was probably a month from death. The last tree was bought last year from a bonsai nursery about an hour from my house and was in better condition but not by much. I'm still nursing this one back to good health. By the end of next growing season I hope to have it filled in completely with new growth. It was even more thined out then it is now. It has grown a lot but a at least another growing season to look like it should. I will be posting updates periodically of their progress. They will be staying with me for the long term im not selling them. I really like this species because they seem pretty tuff and you can take cuttings very very easily. I've got a bunch cuttings I've been growing for a couple of years ,they grow well but slow. If anyone has some tuskmo cypress and would like to share please feel free to post them on this thread. There isn't many threads about this super cool Chamaecyparis.
