In 1997 a cutting was placed in a crevice on top of this limestone boulder. The crevice faced upward and contained the entire root system. In subsequent years the stone was rotated forward so the the crevice could be seen from the front and it was displayed in a suiban. Eventually the roots escaped the crevice and grew down the left side of the stone leading to this design.

I have some very similar rocks waiting around for a tree. Maybe in 25 years, I'll have one like this!
