Actually Dario your thread gave me inspiration also. Since I am collecting so many boxwoods lately, your methods will help me with initial styling. I'm going to have about 15 boxwoods with nice trunks/bases when I am done digging them up.
Thanks,

. I use Kellogs Cactus and Palm mix (I know I will get flack about that but it works, it's cheap and is free draining) for dug boxwoods and have had good success....

No flack from me! I use a lot of cactus/palm mix for trees in plastic nursery cans and for some new collected stumps too. Straight out of the bag. Cheap and fast! But be careful of the cheap Home Depot brands. They tend to be poorly mixed and sometime could have too much saw dust and sewage. The "organic" brands at real nurseries tend to be better mixed and has more sand and pumice and are sure to be free of sewage sludge.
