Hi All,
I am starting this one to document my nebie journey with Pinus Mugo. My wife brought this one from the nursery when buying some flowers etc. After few days I mentioned that I’d gladly use it as my first attempts at bonsai, to which surprisingly she said : „Ok”

So today I started by pruning the brown parts, taking it out of its default soil and aiming at repotting. But then - a surprise… it came out to be actually two separate plants. When separated and cleaned the roots a bit I was presented with those two:

For now the goal is to just let them grow and make sure they go through the winter without any hiccups. So after mixing some conifer soil with perlite for better drainage I’ve put them in separate pots, watered and here they are:

I live in Poland so I guess the important thing for winter will be to make sure I react if the temperature drops drastically.
I have a nice raised garden bed and was thinking about actually burying the pots in there and insulating it with some bark mulch or smth…
But for now still summer so I am gonna let it grow.
To be continued…
