I absolutely LOVE the disruption and fear Trump is causing... the only loser in this entire fiasco is the U.S.A. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot, WOW!
It is fun to watch heads exploding on "the news".I absolutely LOVE the disruption and fear Trump is causing... the only loser in this entire fiasco is the U.S.A. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot, WOW!
Of course it's easy. That's why primitive man believed in tree gods and water gods and wind gods. Easy is not good enough reason. For me, it is much easier to believe in a higher power of unknown origin, especially considering we don't even know our own origin, than to believe that the entire universe happened by chance, that's all.
OK, OK...Of course it's easy. That's why primitive man believed in tree gods and water gods and wind gods. Easy is not good enough reason.
No atheists in a foxhole!Yep, God is all healing and all powerful, thats why everyone runs to the church when they get sick and not to a stupid hospital where all those "science quacks" hang out...
OK, OK...
but they are all a direct result of something that happened in the ancient past that we still don't understand.
Why, then what, so we can all bow to the almighty government? This is what I disagree with. It's not the ancientness, it's about the charisma of the preacher.
The Jonestown mass suicide in 1978.
Heavens Gate in 97
Branch Davidians
Jezus, Muhummad, etc etc,...... all the same.
All Myth which needs to be banished off the face of the Earth.
@MichaelS
And you know, I'll just say this...for whatever it may be worth....
I would probably agree with you more if I had not had more than one personal experience in my life, with something of a paranormal/supernatural nature.
Due to this, I know for sure that there is much to be discovered, and much that will always remain unknown.
That's all.
What's wrong with a little diversity in people's beliefs? This is what I disagree with. It's not the ancientness, it's about the charisma of the preacher.

Yeah kinda like that!See, this is where it starts. Our mind can play tricks on us and it's very easy to put it down to some mysterious outside force. There is no such thing as the ''supernatural'' If you believe in something like that, you must believe in all of it. Fairies, ghosts, god, demons, unicorns, dragons, spirits. All comes from the mind.
Definitely not! but we can't replace discontent with our leaders with fantasy either. Why, then what, so we can all bow to the almighty government?

I think you're misunderstanding my "belief" in whatever God is.If you REALLY believed in your God and his powers, you would never have to go a doctor or dentist... after all, if your God is going to save a place for you in his kingdom, why would you want to delay the trip to such a glorious afterlife by being treated for cancer, heart attack, stroke, etc... to me, it appears as though you are slapping your God's face by refusing to follow his will by ending your existence in this life and going to the next.
Perhaps, your God will throw you out of his kingdom for being a hypocrite.
I don't condone suicide.
What is his will? That's a convenient argument (and justification) for going to the doctor... but it still doesn't mean that your God won't throw you out of his kingdom for not succumbing to "His" will.
