Ground-planted. Over a plastic lid. Bright shade.
Dug and potted the following October (‘24). Many fine roots had grown.
Potted into pumice-fir bark. Some branches wired.
February ‘25
Pruning and wiring
One branch was wired up to start creating a new apex.
Current (end of June ‘25)
The spruce is doing great.
A lot of buds have formed along the trunk and on every branch, even weak ones.
Wire is starting to bite in..
To start shifting strength to the new leader, a few branches on the dominant apex were shortened or removed.
