I bought my Ezo Picea 3 years ago from My Maruyama’s nursery. Took me months to talk him into selling it.
Just took it and had it styled by Mr Maruyama.
It’s beautiful. I love this tree.

Welcome Aboard!

Nice tree! Ezos are very fun to work with and can be forgiving when handled properly.

Right now trying to master growing out cutting.

(btw: If you would please tap your icon and go into account details and enter your approximate location and USDA Plant Hardiness Zone it will help others help you in the future…also it may help you connect with other hobbyists in your vicinity. )

Wonder if it's a glehnii or jezoensis variety. Either way very cool.

spruce are one of my favorite species to see styled more "naturalistically" as this one is. I think folks tend to style ever conifer like a pine, but not with spruces.

I would really like to see this tree against a solid backdrop to see the details more easily.

I'm glad someone else asked about cultivars :) I have Jezoensis and Glehnii, I really like the colour of Jezoensis, I think mine are subsp. Hondoensis, the shoots are a lovely reddish brown.
