FIFA world cup

He is only 19 years old...
Some amazing goals from di Maria and pavard

Pavard"s goal! He'll never again score a goal like that! Such perfection

I cannot imagine what Paris was like today. The wife and I were there earlier this week, and the city basically shut down when France played a game in the first round.

lol Spain. Now that is funny.
It's a bit quiet around these parts.

Not that I want Russia to have anything to be happy at but at least it is a good laugh.

HOW THE HECK DID RUSSIA WIN THAT GAME ???????
Home ground advantage never manifested itself more legendarily.... EVER...

It’s just a contest of 32 country’s competing in a football/soccer game and in the end Belgium wins.... ooh yeah....

If you have ball possession but no idea what to do with the ball... Home advantage did not play. What happened is that Spain was a boring, toothless team passing the ball back and to the sides instead of attacking

Belgium is playing well. I am looking forward to see them against Brazil! (Sorry, Japan!)

To think one of Russia, Croatia, England, Columbia, Sweden or Switzerland are guaranteed to make the final.
That is pretty amazing, no one would of had money on any of them.

Out of them I want it to be England but it's England so I fully expect Columbia to shatter the fairytale. They do have a massively underrated squad too. Young and lacking experience but a lot of quality too.

The other half of the draw is much tougher, still wanting France to win the whole thing but it wont be easy for them.
I lived in Belgium long enough that my kids were born there and they have a good squad too but I'm all about Japan or anybody beating them plus big Rom needs a holiday before the season starts so come on Japan.

Tough WC to call at this point.

Well, guys, I am very sorry, but...
B. R. A. Z. I. L. !!!

(OK, Neymar is a lousy actor, but... The team plays football.)

ColUmbia is a college in New York. It is not playing the world cup. ColOmbia, the South American nation, is.

Not really, it's a simple spelling error. Nothing else. It's also an obvious mistake where everyone knows what is meant. Nowt to do with respect in the slightest.

I mean my name begins with a J and has a double R in the middle, I would certainly be very surprised if a ColOmbian would ever be able to pronounce it correctly with out language training. The Spanish can't do it nor the French in general. I could make a big deal of it but it really is not that important.

Bone-sigh.

Colombia is a homophone in English and Spanish. Your argument is just a poor excuse. (Now, THAT is pedantic!)

Meanwhile, renowned US newspapers show that our Dutch prime minister is from Denmark. I'm fine with "Holland" (just two out of 12 provinces in the Netherlands have Holland in their name) but Denmark?!
We're not in the cup this year. And I'm not a sports watcher. I do however favor watching south american teams because those are more exciting to watch as opposed to those european chess games they call football.
