I have a spouse like that. We have a small house and a small front and back yard. This year I've planted 2 or 3 hundred various seeds (RMJ, Piñon, Ginkgo, Hackberry, desert willow, honey locust, mesquite, etc.), plus my Portulacaria, Mimosa, olive (I should have pics of blossoms within a week), several collected trees planted in ground in the backyard, two flowerbeds in the front yard...
So I get as much purple as possible for her sake. She's basically indifferent to bonsai, but she obviously loves me. She supports my hobby. I also let her have as many jigsaw puzzles as she wants.
Her hobby only takes up one small bookshelf. Mine takes up a yard and a half! I definitely got the best end of the deal!
