Found some "free" wire. While cleaning up the yard for the house we bought a few months back, I found a snarly mess of wire in the huge burn pile. I knew it was decent looking stuff, but had just put it aside for later. Today, I pulled it out, untangled it, straightened and rolled it up. It yielded about 250 feet of #12 wire ......approx. 2 mm. The wire had already been annealed from the burn pile and it's got a weathered look from sitting in the ashes. Seeing that I do mostly clip and grow, this batch should last me a while.

Dav4, I thought about that, but it was really loosely tangled and felt pretty limp as I coiled it. I'll see when I start using it and will re-anneal as needed.

Joe, you said you “pulled it out, straightened, and coiled” it. That’s at least 2 bends.

You really ought to re-anneal it.
