Freeze warnings next few nights

Right…mine tucked in garage for couple days. Ready to actually get them on benches but have been outside man door of garage for easy transport.

My parents in SW Ohio have been grumbling about the weather all week, but that’s cold for April! Good luck.

Yes, we have one freeze coming Tuesday night so I have cleaned out the bed of my pickup so I can move them in and out easily. I have several recent large repots that need to be kept out of the cold as well as my JMAP forest. Next year I plan to add an additional 8’ long shelf in the greenhouse so I can keep everything in there at times like these.

Yeah we are predicted to be in the low 30's and low 20's next couple of nights so I'm heading out to mulch back in on ground since I repotted most of them week and half ago plus they have all started pushing leaves.

Wow just saw we in Ga will be in the mid 30’s. Had no clue thanks! Not bad enough to need protection. Won’t be prolonged. Might protect a couple collected tree that started budding.

I think we're gonna be good. Tuesday night is supposed to drop to 36... but we're on the lake and the water temp is now 72F so we tend to be about 4F warmer than town.

Repots and new leaves and low 20’s don’t mix well, I’m not sure that re mulching will be enough, good luck though!

Same here...not tonight but the 2 following nights. Should be ok as most of my deciduous trees are still dormant in storage, only a few have started to leaf out. I try to hold them back as much as possible for this very reason. As to whether this will be the last of the really cold nights...I doubt it but who knows.

Edit to add...just looked at the details, forecast is for temps to stay below freezing most of the day Tuesday. Lovely!

We started out at 43° yesterday. It only got colder with a windy rain/snow mix all day. I brought my P. afras in Friday. Originally forecast down to 29°, but only dropped to 34°. Thank God for the moisture. About ±2" over 36 hours. First precipitation since November 17th. I've never seen snow this late since I moved here in Y2K. Rose blossom still intact, tulips now opening, iris buds are fine. Seems like all my seeds should be mostly unaffected. Still expecting lows in the 30s for a day or two. 93° forecast next Saturday. Mama nature is so confused!

It's just night temps day time temps in the 40's.
Think this still be a problem? Should I move them into basement? My only concern with this is it's dark down there and they will have to be down there all day for 2-3 days and nights because of my work schedule. I'm at work from 5am-5pm what if I cover them with cover? It's just the frost that's the issue mostly correct? They are dug into ground about 2 feet then munched up over pots. They are all bellow the top of hole that has wood frame so I could throw a piece of plywood over top.

Going into mid-low 20’s tonight and the next few nights, hope it’s the last ones.
Calling for snow here too...tonight and tomorrow. I'm glad I thought to postpone the Seiju clump until the following week.lt was to ship out Monday....no longer dormant...and just not smart to ship.

Don’t think being in a basement for couple days will hurt. I know last year I had to bring inside for few days.

If you get into the 20’s with a newly repotted tree pushing leaves, all your winter hardiness is gone from those trees. I suppose you could hope for the best, but I wouldn’t chance it myself.

Think of it this way...when ones ship trees. They are in a box for several days without mishap. I would not risk tender foliage or freshly repotted trees to the elements.

We have a forecast for frost tomorrow and Tuesday as well. My lilac is leafing out in the garage but it should stay above freezing in there. My crapes are still sleeping, so they'll be fine. @JudyB , your azalea is inside under the lights. I assume it was in your greenhouse under lights before you sent it to me.
