Got in a bidding war, but it was worth it!!

For those of you over at Bonsai Classifieds you saw my foolish bidding on a pot. It was unique and cool and I just had to have it. It'll probably never have a bonsai use other than to sit in my office and start discussions!

We have discussions about worth and how much you'd pay for... Sometimes, something inspires you and you'd pay more than others would...so be it. Maybe the potter will become famous and it'll be worth more, maybe my kids will sell it for .25 at my "Dad's Dead" garage sale. In the mean time, I need a Viking Mudman!!

With the interest in this pot, I don't believe you paid too much. I wanted the pot too as well as a lot of others. I think you were smart to cut the competition off with your bid.

Really curious as to what you might consider potting or will you treat it as a collectible?

Congrats.

I don't think it will ever house a tree. I might consider an accent plant. I do have a rock planting of boxwoods. A display in a suiban tray with the rock and the ship might be fun and quirky! If it looks tacky...forget about it!

I imagine that 98% of its life will be spent in my office! but I will try and imagine some actual use out of it.
