I did a little work on a winged elm today. It was collected in Feb, 2019. I don't remember if I grew it in the pot for a year and then put it in the ground or straight back into the ground. I dug it up this spring and placed it in an anderson flat. Today I did a hard cutback and will for some more back budding. It could've been chopped lower and maybe I will reduce it further next year??

Here it is when first collected, it's the bare stump in the front. 20190210_101149.jpg

Repotted into a ceramic pot this season.
Roots and chop and pigeon breast don't exactly align as one would prefer so it's a little sideways. Love the pot, got it this past winter silhouette in Kannapolis. @ForrestW, www.wallacewoodspottery.com

Its a nice fit, and in a few seasons it will fill out nicely as that hole closes over. I look forward to seeing the progress-- thanks for tagging me.
