I have a new juniper bonsai with around 5 cocoon carcasses on it. Any ideas what this is/how to get rid of? I am in southern CA.

Any advice is appreciated!

Well... After the cocoon, the pest is of no concern. (In MOST cases)

The crawling doodad that MAKES the cocoon CAN be concerning... check your container, trunk and branches...

Any "crawlies"?

Use/make double-sided tape and put a ring around the lip of the pot..Let sit for 24 hours...

See if you "caught" anything.

🤓

Keep us posted.

If theyre old cocoon cases moths will have already emerged and probably gone elsewhere .
You can visually check the plant and should easily be able to spot if there are any signs of caterpillars feeding on the foliage and just squash them.
On a small bonsai juniper it would not be hard to see them and get rid of them

Thanks for all the help everyone!
Was concerned they were a burrowing worm, since they look similar to the one in the attached image.
don’t see any on it now so will just keep an eye!
