Hi all,

I have harvested a deshojo air layering a couple days ago and now all the leaves are dried. I should have reduced the number of leaves. Is the tree gonna die or will it still grow in the current state?

The tree have around 10-15 white roots about 3 inches long before I harvest.

It appears you separated it too early. I don’t separate layers until the roots really fill the bag and have turned from white to brown in color.
Keep the soil from drying and watch for some new buds to swell in a week or two. You might get lucky.

My guess is not enough roots to supply the water needed by all those leaves so the tree has shut down leaves to survive but chances are it is still alive.
Assuming you are in northern hemisphere so moving into Autumn. The tree may grow new leaves or, if it senses Winter approaching might just stay dormant until Spring so don't give up hope until well into next Spring.

Thanks both :) will keep soil from drying and hopefully the tree will grow some new buds

The tree is rebalancing to account for its new reality, so help it out. Keep it in the shade.
