Seedling
Yeah the sweetgum in my backyard is already 60-70 feet tall and the leaves are very full five lobed leaves that remind me a lot of maple leaves. These leaves on the small tree have 5 lobes but the center one is long like a skinny finger. This seedling I collected was about 20 feet from the sweetgum growing in a pot with one of my palms. I dug it out and repotted it and it has really taken off and grew extremely fast going from a green stalk with about 2-3 leaves to a woody branch with many leaves in about 5 months. It lost just about all of its leave for winter now. I guess the more the bark matures and the new spring growth in about 3 months I will be able to tell better.
