Japanese white pine seedlings

If your seeds were imported from China, can you be sure they are indeed Pinus parviflora?
As long as you don't know which tree the seeds were taken from, you're not 100% sure, but over time, the trees will develop and identification will become easier. In terms of probability (It is in no one's interest (collector and reseller) to make identification errors) and given the size of the needles, I don't see why I would doubt the authenticity of the species. Not all Japanese white pines have very short & straight needles.

Here are the seedlings a few days ago ->

I suspect these are naturally hybridized pinus parviflora x pinus armandii. This happens very easily in the eastern US when pinus strobus are nearby. I don’t think JWP needles get this long in nature, generally speaking. I think these could make fun trees since pinus armandii needles can certainly be reduced, as there are many beautiful specimen in Taiwan. I’d love to see where you take these little guys.
