Just started to turn colors...

so over the past week or so, my juniper just started to turn yellow and now brown. Ideas?

Part of the roots is above the soil. Part of the roots or soil is covered by pebbles. Impossible to water correctly.

I was thinking that....
Could have one or 2 dead roots that supported those branches.

The yellow area is so definitive.
