Just a post to keep track of these guys. When I got them 10-2-2023 they was completely dry and had been mistreated. I put them in a bucket of water for 30 minutes and will keep them on the porch undercover and in some morning sun, just giving water as needed for now. Thank you @leatherback for the information, hopefully these guys make a come back.

They look fine to me as they are on the pic.

Leaves are real brittle and dry, if you touch them they just fall off they have black spots and look like they have been eaten by something in spots. I can get close ups when I get home, some are very yellow. The dirt was dry as could be, I could not feel any moistness all the way down the depth of the pot. when I soaked them the pots was floating in the water not taking in the water and had just went under water when I had to leave for work. I did not want to just leave them there all day so I pulled them out and sat in low sun area of screened in porch. was still floating somewhat but further in the water. I started this so we was not hijacking the other post and I could keep track of them and what to do.

They do look like my zelkova too.

Soaking was a good idea.

Leaving the plants in water until the rootball totally sinks is the treatment. Multiple hours is ok. For example peat based media often takes 1-4 hours to fully saturate. Some folks soak ‘em overnight.

cheers
