I was given a dogwood by someone I trade plants with. Its nothing impressive yet - maybe a half-inch width and 3-feet tall. I may just plant it in the ground, but it's been in a training pot for about a year now.
Just wondering about pruning. Most advice says to prune after flowers fade. I think my tree is too young to flower anyway. My questions would be:
- If I prune in Winter or early spring, will I miss the chance of having flowers?
- If it's not going to flower anyway, is the best time to prune still late spring /
