picked this up last October but I don’t think it’s a ponderosa. Two needle pine. Any I’d help would be appreciated

My guess would be Austrian Black Pine, pinus nigra. Very common in the nursery industry.

I’m not sure. I have one of those. It doesn’t really look the same. Longer needles and a dull green color

I think it’s American red pine. Pinus resinosa?

Looks Ponderosa to me. Needle length and color, buds, and bark indicate such. Needle fascicles of 3 can be few and far between sometimes. Keep searching.

Why do you think its other than labeled?
I only have 1 ponderosa. So I wasn’t sure if they came in different types. Kinda like single flush pines are not all the same. The trunk is thick and not bendable. The needles are longer and thicker than ponderosa. It doesn’t like heat so we’ll see if it makes it through the summer

My ponderosa have both 2 and 3 needle fascicles. This looks like a ponderosa to me.
The older candles closer to the buds have 2 needles and the older branches have 3. The trunk is what caught my eye. I picked it up cheap with a broken leader. If it is a red pine they don’t grow much south of Michigan and Minnesota

I guess Ill treat it as ponderosa and see what happens. The trunk is so thick for a tree under 2’ tall. It didn’t seem right. Thanks for all the help

They do have thick gnarly trunks. This is my Pondy. I can't take credit for making it but hope I can be responsible for taking care of it.

Looks like Ponderosa here as well. Personally have 12 and some have 2 and 3 needles on same tree😊.
