I was wondering if anyone knows why the edges of my Chinese Elm are turning white? It’s not bad yet but would like to get a jump on it before it gets bad.
I wasn’t having much luck indoors but since summers here he’s growing like crazy outside.

Welcome Fox Island!

Have often sought (and found) Giant Pacific octopus deep off the diver entry there!

Brown/white edges of leaves usually indicates the leaf isn’t getting enough water. Since the issue don’t seem to be widespread perhaps there was a missed or late watering, or two? Alternately a tad too much fertilizer can do the same thing,

Likely not an issue yet. Might want to give a tad less sun on the hot days.

Can you tell us what type of media is being used and frequency of watering in the past month?

Cheers

Thanks for your input fellow PNW’ner 😄
I did miss a few waterings in the past week, we are in the middle of moving from Port Orchard to Fox Island. I feed maybe once a week and the elm has moved from a morning sunny front porch to a mostly shady garden spot. I know that’s a lot of changes for the poor tree.
My challenge in this new house will be finding a good window spot this winter.
